Update Feb 2023 | Pheap has Graduated!
Hey,
Pheap has well and truly graduated the Executive Masters in Leadership. So we’ll share a little about that and what’s coming next.

God is faithful! The Graduation is now done. We went to Kona as a family where Pheap presented her thesis as part of the oral exam and then had the graduation ceremony. It was challenging academically & financially. It was quite the journey but we didn’t do it alone because God was with us and we had people like you who stood by us and advocated for us. We took some risks which a lot of other people would think was foolish but God came through.
Pheap has written about her whole journey over the 2 years as briefly as possible and as accurate as possible. It’s still too long to put in this newsletter so if you want to read about it you can go to the page that has it on our website here. At the bottom of that page is also a link to a youtube video where you can see Pheap present her thesis. or you can tap here to watch it.
Application:
As part of Pheap’s thesis, she will be writing a leadership devotional book in Khmer Language. The heart behind this booklet is to provide resources to churches in Cambodia once it is done. This project will finish by the end of this year. So, please join us in prayer.
Now that Pheap had finished her master’s degree, she is committed to facilitating the next master’s degree in Asia. This is very exciting because Pheap really feels that her calling is to educate, equip young leaders to be a God-led leader. This master’s program will start in 2024 but the preparation and staff training will start October this year.
What else is next for us?
National Leadership Team
Photo of the NLT
Pheap has been in this team for a few years now, just this year she feels led to use her voice more in the team. The National Leadership Team (NLT) is a small team that takes care of YWAM Cambodia, this includes making decisions for the whole of YWAM as a country. Being part of this team is a heavy responsibility because we are taking care of every base in Cambodia.
Please Pray
- For wisdom to facilitate and steward God’s ministry well.
Language Learning
Pat has stepped away from the missions mobilization team. During his time serving as its leader he was faithful and able to break records while calling people to missions.
He has already handed over leadership of the team to a capable young Khmer man so that he can focus on Khmer language learning. The goal is to go beyond his current survival speaking ability, so he can converse heart to heart. He feels this will be important for serving long term in Cambodia, and as an example to our son.
He still carries a few responsibilities and has even been able to give remote assistance to the campus and the missions mobilization team while he’s been away.
Please Pray
- For Pats health and
- For rapid growth in speaking Khmer and
- For wisdom in navigating this time of change.
That’s about it. We’re in the land down unda now, able to visit friends and family, and will be back in Cambodia at the start of April. It’s a wonderful way to close to this season in our lives and we’re grateful to God and you for it. Thank you!
Blessings,
Pat & Pheap.
